Independent friction-restitution modeling of two-disk collisions

چکیده
The oblique collisions between two axisymmetric disks moving on a flat horizontal surface are described in terms of impact modeling based the assumption that normal and tangential restitution mechanisms operate independently friction. Describing these usual Coulomb formulation, model allows for an interpretation some “anomalous” experimental data reported literature. These data, corresponding to variation coefficients friction with angle, remained unexplained classic formulations, understood within framework independent friction-restitution closure. Experimental metallic coins agreement including rolling effects.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions
By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...
متن کاملFriction Models for the Rolling Disk
In this paper we are interested in the dynamics and numerical treatment of a rolling disk on a flat support. The objective of the paper is to develop a numerical model which is able to simulate the dynamics of a rolling disk taking into account frictional resistance against sliding, pivoting and rolling. A mechanical model of a rolling disk is presented in the framework of Non-smooth Dynamics. ...
متن کاملFundamentals of Friction Modeling
INTRODUCTION Friction modeling has been steadily gaining in interest over the last few decades. However, owing to the complexity of the friction phenomenon, no comprehensive, practicable friction model that shows all of the experimentally observed aspects of friction force dynamics in one formulation is available. Most available friction models are, in essence, empirical, that is, based on limi...
متن کاملAtomistic Modeling of Friction
Friction is a well-known, but poorly understood, phenomenon that affects virtually all aspects of daily life. In some cases, friction is desirable, e.g., high friction in clutches leads to the effective transmission of forces between an automobile’s engine and its wheels, while in other cases friction is a significant drawback, e.g., friction between the piston and cylinder wall decreases the e...
متن کاملModeling Multiple–Vehicle Property Damage Collisions in Urban Signalized Intersections
Development of disaggregate models for estimating different property damage collision type frequencies in urban intersections has rarely been studied, particularly in Iran. It seems very little research work being implemented for studying the effect factors on collision type frequency at intersections. The main objective of this paper is to develop suitable statistical models to predict types o...
